Volume of sphere

Q. A solid spherical ball of radius 4cm is melted to form spheres of radius 2cm each. The number of spheres so formed is
a) 8
b) 9
c) 10
d) 16

Answer: a

Volume of sphere is (4/3)πr. So, Volume is directly proportional to cube of radius.
r13 = x * r23, where r= 4 and r= 2. Substituting these values we get x=8.
